The Nerve of Some People

This is what our truck looked like at 2:00 pm today (More pictures in the Photo section). Somebody broke into the truck and stole the cd player. I got home from school yesterday around 5 o'clock after a long day. I didn't drive today because it wasn't my turn to drive and got a ride from my friend who lives in the next appartment complex. (We normally carpool anyways, so it was no big deal) Katie had some errands to run today, so she came and picked me up from school, did our errands, and treaded ourself to a quite lunch (Braydon was in school).

When we arrived home after lunch, Katie noticed that our truck shell window was broken out as we drove up. We went and inspected and found our cd player gone and the dash board busted apart. We called the police and they sent a policemen over to take some pictures and fingerprints. From what the policemen said, the area we live in has about one car that is broken into a week.

The funny thing about the whole thing is that our Ham radio wasn't even touched. It is by far, the most expensive thing in our truck. We decided not to chance it again so we took the Ham radio out. The other thing that is funny is that the window that they went through in our shell as placed nicely on Braydon's car seat that was in the back so that the glass would not brake. They did brake the brackets so we need to get them replaced. We taped a garbage bag over the hole and I get out of class tomarrow at 9:00 am so I will go to a shell place and get the window put back in.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!

The end of August to the first of February has got to be the best time of the whole year, and it's all about College and NFL football. We went to our first NAU football game. It was a different experience because it was not how I've ever seen a football game. I'm use to watching BYU football were the stadium is huge and you have to bear the climate (sunny and hot to snowy and cold) NAU plays there games in a dome on turf and it is as big as LaVell Edwards Stadium without the upper deck and without the endzone seating. I looked at the box score and found that the attendence was about 7,500 people as to the 65,000+ at BYU. Katie likes it because when we go to NAU's football games in November, her toes won't freeze!!! Some pictures of our experience is in our photo album, Take a look!

This week was not to exciting until the football game today. I had my first patient on Thursday. We get a chance to help students that have physical therapy problems once a week. Three of us 2nd years get a chance to evaluate and treat a patient under the supervision of one of our professers. My patient was coming in for a knee injury so I spent all afternoon going over knee stuff so I would know what to do for them. When the time came for the appointment, my patient no showed. I was very disappointed because I could have been studing other things but I guess that's how it happens sometimes. Hopefully I have a better experience next semester.

Back to the Grind!!

We just got some pictures from Katie's mom from when they came down at the end of July. We put them in our Family Photo Album for your veiwing pleasure. Some of the pictures are of Braydon at Katie's parents house when we were there in June.

We had a great Labor Day weekend. We decided to go camping with some of our friends and had a great, relaxing time. The only thing that went wrong is the fact that we forgot our camera and didn't take any pictures. Yes, I know, we are slackers. I thought Katie grabbed it, and of course, she thought I got it. What are you going to do? I don't know if it's just me or does holiday weekends go by way to fast?

My Septemeber is going to be a busy one. This week we found out when we are responsible for treating students with physical therapy problems at the Fronske Health Center here on campus and when our Case report presentation is. Both of those happen in September. I'm going to be in Fronske on Thursday, September 15th and 22nd. This gives us two weeks to work with our patients. The first one is for the evaluation and exercise. The second is to follow-up and see how they are feeling and to progress them as needed. Then on Friday, Septemeber 30th, I have my 15 minute presentation on my case report. All I know is that September is going to be busy, but after that, it will be smooth sailing. (I hope!)

First Day of School

We've add some pictures to our Family Photo Album of Braydon's first day of school. He was so excited to be able to be "Big" and go to school. He is attending a Head Start school and loves to play with his new friends, color & paint pictures, and play music. He's having a blast with it.

It's a different story for me. I'm taking 16 credit hours that consist of: Cardiopulmonary Therapeutics I (4), Musculoskeletal Therapeutics I (4), Neurophysiological Therapeutics I (4), Life Cycle I-Birth to Adolescents (2), Patient Presentation-Case Reports from Internship (2). All of these classes cover everything learned/taught last year so it will be a long year for me this semester. I will continue to do my best in posting once a week, but if I don't, I'm Apologizing in advance!

This is our weekly update considering we will be out of town for Labor Day weekend so you all be Safe and have a good one!

Bike'n & Hike'n

Here's one of the 5 new pictures in our Family Photo Album under the folder "Bike'n & Hike'n." Braydon has become a little explorer! The hiking pictures are from some trails out behind our apartment. It was taken while I was locked up in our bedroom typing my case report. He is also becoming a little biker boy. He is able to go around the playground with little help. Katie and I have to go and help him sometimes when he gets stuck. He loves being outside!!

School starts this Monday(Aug. 29). Over the weekend I finished my case report and bought my textbooks. I spent over $700.00 this semester just in books. The only good thing about spending so much, is the fact that we will use these books for this semester and next semester. Braydon also starts school on Monday. He is going to Head Start from noon-3:30 M-F. He is excited about it.

Katie and I are trying to decide what we are going to do over Labor Day weekend. Our friends are thinking about going camping and maybe going to the Grand Canyon. We might do that with them considering they have an "All-Parks" pass so we will all climb in there car and go to the Grand Canyon for the day. As for camping, they know some good little spots that you don't have to pay for because camping around here can be pretty expensive.
