This last Wednesday, we celebrated Katie's Birthday (you will have to ask her how old she is if you want to know!!!). We were able to spend it with each other (thanks Lorey) as Braydon went and played (have a sleepover) at his friends house. I surprised her by taking her to the Melting Pot for dinner. It was very good, expensive, but very delicious. We will return again for another special occasion (whenever that will be). We liked the whole atmosphere and able to enjoy each others company over a fine meal with no screaming child (I know, he's not that bad). We then headed to the movie theater to watch a movie. I mistakenly looked at the wrong theater and the movie we both wanted to watch was not playing at the one we were at and no other movie looked interesting so we headed back home for more relaxation (without a child).
I was a BIG SLACKER this year when it came to presents. I ordered Braydon's gift to Katie online and it didn't come until the day after her birthday but she loved it none the less. Braydon got her the game Ticket To Ride. We were introduced to it through some friends and she liked it and thought she would like to have it. Now when you come and visit, you get to play a new game!!!
I still have not been able to give her my gift yet!!! I have given her several options as in 1) Surprise and just order it online 2) Let her go out and buy other things she wanted 3) Call it her gift that was dinner and the new outfit she bought for her birthday dinner. She is leaning toward #3 but I don't think she will get away with that (Basically I don't think I will get way with that!!!!!)
Yesterday morning, Katie and Braydon left the warm and shorts weather to go to SNOWY Utah for Braydon's Spring Break. They have only been gone one day and I am already hearing how much Katie HATES the cold!!!! I do have to say that today was rainy and chili (mid-50's). They will be celebrating more birthdays (my sister and Dad) in Utah. I choose to stay back this week and work all weekend so that we all can return the second week of April (and I don't have enough PTO to take 2 weeks off so close together).
SPORTS UPDATE: Selection Sunday is today so fill out your brackets for the best two weeks of college basketball of the year. MARCH MADNESS is upon us!!!!
