The Canyon that is so GRAND!

We all went to the Grand Canyon on Saturday. We've wanted to go since we moved here in Flagstaff but have never found time. We decided that we need to go before we move back to Utah in May. So we looked at our schedule and this weekend was the perfect weekend to do it. We were going to go last weekend but it was a little chili and windy.

We stopped in the little town before the Grand Canyon and watched the IMAX movie. It was about the secrets of the Grand Canyon and was very interesting. It showed some of the rapids in the canyon. I thought the water was calm and smooth the whole way through the canyon but I was wrong. Braydon like the animals that the movie showed. We then went through the visitors shop and then headed to the Grand Canyon to view it ourselves.

We went to Mather Point first. It was the first stop once you get in. We had a little picnic in our car (since it was a little cold). We then started to walk around and take some pictures. At Mather Point, there is a visitor center and bookstore so we checked them out also. While we were there, we decided to go to Pima Point. Pima Point is a good place to see the Colorado River. We took a few pictures. By that time, Braydon was sick of walking around and was ready to go home.

On the way home, we stopped at a trailer park that had some Fintstones stuff. I think Braydon had more fun there for the 10 minutes we stopped there for, then at the Grand Canyon it self. He was so excited to ride the Flintstone's car and to see the big rocket. You can check out all of our picture in our photo album.

The Grand Canyon is about an hour and 15 minutes away so we spent about as much time driving as we did actually in the Grand Canyon (2.5 hours driving & 3.5 hours sight-seeing)

No matter how many pictures you see, it's just not the same as actually being there. It's quite amazing. I hope Braydon had fun, even though it wasn't Utah! It won't be long before he comes to Utah again. Only 81 days or something left, right Katie? Take care. We love you.

I loved the car that Braydon was driving. He could get to Utah in that! I'm glad you got to see of Az while you were there. Can't wait to see ya.
