You Using Your Whole Fist, Doc?

We just took our Toyota truck to the dealership to get the steering fixed because of a recall on a part. We've also noticed a oil leak coming from the front of the engine so I wanted them to take a look while it was in the shop. I was expecting it to be a seal or o-ring problem (which it was) and it would cost $100-$200. I just about died when the guy from the dealership called and said it was the o-ring and seal and the total cost was going to be $350.

Yes, I crapped my pants!!!

Yes, I feel like I bent over and took it up.....(you know the rest)!!!

I knew it had to be fixed and I don't have the means or time to do it myself so I had them finish the job. When I went to pay, I got the receipt and looked it over to see if the o-ring or seal were made out of gold. They were not, just plain rubber and steel. The total for these little parts was around $30. The rest of the bill was labor, $320 worth of labor. I could not believe that.

With all of that, I might have to change professions. I mean, I'm guessing it took 4 hours to fix it, so the mechanic is making $80/hour. As a physical therapist, I will only make around $25/hour.

Enough of the complaining, my friend and I put a new radio/cd player in my truck. It took us about 3 hours to do it because we needed to figure out what wires went to what. We had it working the all the bells and whistles and then when we went to mount it in, it stopped working so we checked all the wires again and it was dead. We didn't do anything to the power wire to make it stop giving power to the radio. If anybody out there has any ideas, please let me know.

P.S. the title is in reference to Fletch if you didn't catch it the first time!!!

You have changed your layout. Do you nor have any pictures for this week? If so I could not find any. By the way, all this therapy is not going to be cheap on my shoulder. You have to remember that. You get paid for each time someont comes and gets a work over, which is three times a week for me. I don't even have a clue how much this will cost.

Change professions?? To a mechanic?? I can't believe I actually e-heard those words from your mouth! All of this coming from the kid who never wanted to help his dad fix anything on a vehicle and vowed to pick a profession where he could make enough money that he could just "pay" someone to fix his stuff. Now I bet you wish you would have paid a little more attention to the last time dad asked for your help in changing an o-ring or seal! :) ha ha ha
