We had a great time over the 4th of July with my sister and her family. They arrived late Thursday Night and left Sunday morning. I had to work a half day on the 4th so they all relaxed and got to sleep in. When I got off work, we headed to the local swimming pool to take advantage of the "Free Swim on the Fourth" day. It was packed. I'm glad we got there early because we got right in when it opened at noon. Two hours later, there was a long line waiting to get in because they would only allow people in when people left. We had our own BBQ in our backyard that evening and did some fireworks out in the street. All the kids were tired and we decided not to go look for "BIG" fireworks. The kids were so tired that they all fell asleep within 30 minutes of putting them down (which is amazing!!!!)
The next day was just about relaxing. We did go to the local park so the kids could play in more water at the Splash Pads. We were there for about 30-45 minutes because it was so hot. We played a lot of games and the Lanier kids loved to watch and play the Wii. Here is a little video of the kids at the Splash Pads (again, sorry about no sound)
Our next adventure will be going to Utah during the 24th of July for a family reunion on my side of the family and a few days in Heber with Katie's side of the family.
Look at our photo album for our pictures from the 4th.
