Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Katie, Braydon and my parents came down to Vegas to see me. Here is the quick run-down of our adventures:

Friday night: We went to Red Robin and had dinner. They got to town as I was just getting out of my internship and I meet them there. We just relaxed the rest of the night.

Saturday: For breakfast, we went to The Original Pancake House. Katie and I have fallen in love with this place. Everytime we come to Vegas we try to have at least one breakfast there. That afternoon, we drove past my work place to show them where I'm working. We then headed down to the Strip. Our first stop was the Rio. They have the "Masquerade Show in the Sky." It's like a Mardi Gras parade on the ceiling. The people in the parade throw beads (not like the real Mardi Gras parade). Braydon was able to get two beaded necklaces. We then went to Caesars Palace. We walked through the Forum Shops to get out onto the strip. We went down the strip to the Venetian to see the gondolas riding up and down the canals. We then went to see the pirate show at Treasure Island. The pirate show use to be a good, clean, family show, now it's not. I'm glad we didn't have a "good" spot to see it and don't recommend watching it with little kids. We then hit the Mirage. Braydon loved the volcano. We then went back home to watch the BYU-Arizona game (TiVo is the greatest invention).

Sunday: Our first stop was M&M World. We spent a good hour there looking at each of the 4 floors. We watch a free movie about "Red losing his M in Vegas." We bought some M&M's and enough stuff to get a free "Pirate" stuff M&M for Braydon. Coca-Cola World was next. Nothing too exciting in there except for the fact we got a huge rootbeer float. Our last stop of the morning was at the MGM Grand. We watched the Lions play for a while and then ate lunch in the Rainforest Cafe.
That evening Katie and I had a date night!!! We went to the Mandalay Bay for dinner. Then we went to the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert. We had a great time. The money was well spent. They sang, pretty much non-stop, for 3 hours straight. Our seats weren't the best but it sure was fun. It was cool because it was the last night of their whole tour. After that, Katie and I meet up with Mike and Lorey and played some Texas Hold'em. Katie ended up losing her money ($40 in the Texas Tea slot machine at Mandalay Bay and $40 at Hold'em) and I doubled my money ($75 to $150) to make up for her!!!

Monday: We just had some breakfast here (thanks Lorey) and then my family left. Now, it will be 4 weeks before I get to see them again so if anybody wants to bring Katie and Braydon down here before then, let use know!!!!
