One Down, Seven to GO!!!

I have just finished my first week in my first internship. It has been going very well. It is a newer clinic and it's just starting to build up its clients. We see anywhere from 6-10 people a day, which turns out to be about 1 per hour. This is good for me because I have time through out the day to study and look things up (if I need to). My Clinical Instructor (CI) wants to go over a section of the body every week, so this last week we have been going over the shoulder(evaluation, special test, treatments). My CI has also been giving me articles (shoulder related) to read to keep my up with my studies. Overall, it was a great first week.

My internship makes me pretty busy during the week, so the weekends are my free time. Last night, Mike and I went to a the South Coast Casino. It is the most southern casino on the strip, close to his house. We went to play a 2-4 Texas Hold'em. A 2-4 game means that pre-flop and post-flop can only be bets of 2 and raises can only be in 4-6-8-10. The turn and river have to be bets of 4-8-12-16. I limited my self to start with $100. I was down to about $40 went I started getting good hands.

I started getting 3-of-a-kinds, straights, flushes, full houses and building my chips up. Then I pocket A's and flopped 3-of-a-kind. I kept raising and 3 other people kept calling. On the river, the dealer laid another Ace.

YES, FOUR-OF-A-KIND!!!!

My heart was racing and I was trying hard not to get to excited. I was so excited that I said "Raise" before the guy in front of my bet so he folded quickly and the other two in the pot called. I beat a 3-of-a-kind and a full house. I won about $150 from the pot and the casino pays for 4-of-a-kinds depending how long ago somebody got it. So I got another $150 for that. Basically, I took my $100 in and brought out $450. Not bad for only about 4 hours of playing.
