Sad Day in Arizona!!!

My brother-in-law and I made the voyage to Phoenix to watch America's Team (Dallas Cowboys) play the Arizona Cardinals. We left Saturday afternoon and arrived in Phoenix around 5:00 pm. We watched a little football/NASCAR in our hotel before we got dinner. We stayed about 20 minutes away from the stadium. All the hotel guest (about 80% of them) had on some type to Dallas Cowboy gear. We felt so loved in enemy territory. At dinner, it was a whole different situation. We had the restaurant owner/server mentioned the fact that they too were going to the game and said we would have to "pay extra" for our meal. They knew we liked the Cowboys since my brother-in-law wore his Cowboy sweatshirt.

We got to the game at about 9:00 am and hung out around the stadium since the gates didn't open until 11:00 am. At that time we headed down to our seats since they were right by the tunnel where the Cowboys came in and out of the locker room. We got tons of pictures of players warming up and I came close to getting Adam "Pac-man" Jones autograph. Where we were standing, not a lot of players came by.

Here is the Cowboys coming out the the tunnel before the game: (look how good our seat were)

Football game Re-cap: (May be boring if not into football/Cowboys)

The game started out rough with the Cardinals running the opening kick-off for a touchdown so Dallas was playing from behind at the very beginning. Halftime the score was tied up at 7-7. Arizona was up 24-14 with about 3 minutes left in the game. Dallas then had a 70 yard touchdown catch by Marion Barber with about 2 minutes left. Arizona didn't do anything with the ball and had to punt it to Dallas with about 1 minute to go in the game. Dallas was able to get close enough for a 52 yard Field goal to tie the game and sent it to overtime. Dallas won the coin toss and got the ball first but didn't do anything with it and had to punt.

This is were it all goes BAD!!! The Cardinals blocked the punt and picked up the loose ball and scored a touchdown ending the game in a hear-break fashion. I never thought that when they had to punt the ball, it would be blocked, never crossed my mind once, until I looked up at the scoreboard and the final score read: DALLAS 24 ARIZONA 30

End of Re-cap

Even though the Cowboys lost, I am still a COWBOY fan for life and will have to got to another game (hint, hint, to my lovely wife) to get this bad taste out of my mouth.

I have about 60 pictures from the game in the photo album if you want to look at them.

Thanks for the disclosure on the "boring" re-cap. I'm glad you had a good time, and got your money's worth with over-time and everything. Too bad it didn't end in the Cowboy's favor.
