Katie's parents and little sister came out to visit us last week. They flew in on Saturday and flew out the following Saturday. I have to admit, the Las Vegas Airport has easy access to pick up and drop off passengers. (Now I just have to have Katie learn how to do it!!!)
Here is a quick run down:
Saturday: Resting from the flights, Shopping for food for the week, Buying ceiling fans, kitchen light for the house, Playing games.
Sunday (Mother's Day): We all got up early so the men could cook breakfast for the ladies. Packed our cars up for a day at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. It was nice to go out and visit the dam. There is a lot of history in that dam. I did learn that it is about has thick as it is tall (I would never have guested). After walking all morning, we at a picnic lunch at Lake Mead along with playing in the water. It was windy and we all got our feet wet but Braydon was adventurous and actually got all the way in the water. The water was colder than I expected.
We came home and got ready to go to dinner at the Silverton Casino Buffet. It is a pretty good little buffet. We DVR the Jazz game 4 and was able to watch a good overtime game in which the Jazz pulled off a win in SLC.
Monday: WORK!!! We (Father-in-law mostly and I) installed ceiling fans in to help circulate air so it's not AS hot in our house. Culligan came to install a soft water system and water purifier for our drinking water. We have been disgusted with little white/brown flakes in our water and have had enough. Our fridge is hooked up to the system so even our ice maker will make purified ice for us. We then took Braydon to his golf lesson in which he was able to show his grandpa how good he is. For dinner we finally ended up at Coyote's for Mexican food. We were going to see the Tournament of the Kings but our tickets got mixed up or something like that.
Tuesday: Mostly a lazy day. Went to the Pancake House for breakfast, which is always a must with visitors!!! We ended up going to the Orleans Hotel and Casino for some bowling. Here is how we finished: Jim, Shane (only by 3 pins I have you know!!!), Nettie, Braydon, Katie, Emily. After bowling I took Braydon to school while everyone else went to the Mall to shop.
Wednesday: I had to work that day so everybody else got to play. Braydon learned how to ride his little bike without training wheels. He was so excited and loves to ride his bike. He is so good and starting and stopping on his little bike. As you can see in the video the big bike is hard to stop and start. Katie got some free show tickets that she gave to her mom and dad so we went to the Hooters Hotel and Casino to get the tickets to the Mentalist: Gerry McCambridge. It is a very small casino and was not to impressed with it. All (I should say most) of the female workers were dressed in the "Official Hooters" outfits. My In-Laws said the show was alright and were glad they didn't have to pay full price. We again watched the Jazz game 5 in which the Lakers won in LA.
Thursday: Jim and Nettie decide to get a night at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino so they could have some pool time. It was also good because that night we were able to finally get our Tournament of the Kings dinner show tickets. I got off of work and meet them there when they were getting out of the pool. Everybody got ready for dinner. We all had a good time. We had to eat all of our food with our fingers since they didn't have eating utensils back then. The only problem about the evening was that we came out of there not able to hear because the microphones were so loud.
Friday: PACKING day. It's always a sad day when visitors leave or we have to leave. It was basically a lazy day with nothing much going on. In-laws packed, ordered pizza for the Jazz game 6. It was sad to see the Jazz lose and get kicked out of the playoffs. We also played some board games and just enjoyed the evening.
Saturday: I took the family to the airport in the morning and rested the rest of the day with not much excitement.
Today: I had my first day off since then and have been running around doing errands, going to the dentist (not by choice). Braydon has been faithfully practicing riding his new BIG bike and have this video to prove it.
Check out our Photo Album for our new albums: Silly faces, Hoover Dam, Around the House, Small Bike Riding, Big Bike Riding.
With the Jazz out of the playoffs, it's officially time to start counting down to FOOTBALL season!!!

What a great bike-rider! I love the look on his face right before he stops. Looks like total fear that Katie's not going to catch him. Good job, Braydon!
