Life Away From Family and Living in Vegas

Sorry for being so slow in updating our website. I've been quite busy since moving down here with looking for a new house, starting a job, finding a storage place for all our junk for a few months.

Katie and I came down on July 5th and looked at homes all day on the 6th and 7th before Katie flew back to Salt Lake on the 8th. We were successful and found a house that is in the process of being built. Its was interesting because the first day we only looked at re-sales and most were well out of our price range. The next day we only looked at places that were building and found out that it is cheaper to build a brand new rather than one already built. The development is called Mountains Edge and is in the southwest area of Las Vegas and just south (about 15-20 minutes) of the hospital I'm working at. Here are the basic floor plans for our house. We are very excited since it is a house that had everything we wanted and it will be finished in mid-November and not have to wait 6-8 months. All will be invited to stay if your ever in the area so just let us know.

Now, for work. I just finished my second week and actually enjoyed it. Well, mostly enjoyed working and getting PAID!!! I work on the 3rd floor in the Orthopaedic section with those patients getting out of surgery (Knees, Hips, Backs, Necks, etc....) I have 35 rooms max if they are all full. I see about 20-25 patients in a day with the help of a PT aide. I'm still trying to get to know all the workers and how things are done (meetings, charting, billing, etc...). I will get the hang of it and all will be well in the next few weeks.

That's about all that is going on here. I miss Katie and Braydon not being here but they only have about 4 weeks until they move down here. Katie finishes work the end of July and will be coming in mid-August so Braydon will be able to start school in the school that is close to our house. I think Katie is excited to quit work and being able to stay at home (if she desires).

I added some pictures in our photo album of how far along the house is at this time and will be giving you updated pictures about once a month to let you all know where we are in the building process so check them out.

One thing I can see about your house is no grass, ar just a small patch. You really didn't like to mow it anyway. It looks like the house will be big enough for you for a time. Then you can always look for a larger one. Grandma Holt

Congrats on finding a house. That walk-in closet looks HUGE! And I like how the laundry room is on the second floor where all the bedrooms (and dirty clothes) are. How exciting to actually be buying a home! I can only imagine what that would be like. Someday it will happen for us.

That is so cool you are getting a house. I hope you aren't too lonely while your family is away. Sounds like all is going good for you.
