Backyard Is Complete!!!

Our backyard is finished and we are excited to have it done. Here's some before and after pictures: (pictures don't do it justice, you have to experience it for yourself, hint, hint!!!)

When we moved in

Backyard during the day

Backyard at night

We can honestly say now our house is complete. We have artificial grass and I'm excited that it will be green all year with no watering (except to cool it down during the summer), no mowing, no edging, etc.... OK, so I'm lazy but think its the way to go considering I would be doing all that in 110+ degrees in the summer.

In honor of Dale Jr's Nascar win on Sunday, I changed my background. He broke a 76 race win-less streak and finally got the "monkey off his back." Boston Celtics are still leading the NBA Finals with a 3-2 advantage heading back to Boston for the last two games (Tue & Thurs). Hopefully the Celtics will have won the championship by my next post. Tiger Woods won the U.S Open Championship after a nice putt on the 18th hole to force a 18-hole tie breaker (that actually ended up being 19 holes) to win his 14th Major, leaving him 2nd only to Jack Nicklaus' 18.

Look at our photo album for more day and night pictures of our backyard.

Weekly Update

We have had a busy last few days. Last weekend was my birthday. To celebrate it, while Braydon was in school, Katie and I decided to go to Hurricane Grill & Wings and would highly recommend it. They had a lunch special that is 10 wings (with or without bones) and a drink for $7. They have over 30 different flavors to choose from when it comes to the wings. Katie got the Mango BBQ and I tried the Gold Rush (Honey Mustard). We also go the Garlic & Parmesan Fries that were to die for!!! On Saturday, we went to check out the local Community Center Outdoor Pool and it was a mad house. Tons of people and limited space to put our stuff. Now granted, we got there about 2 hours after it opened so all the chairs were taken. Braydon had a wonderful time and we will definitely go again but it will be on my days off when Braydon is out of school.

Katie and Braydon surprised me with a late birthday/early father's day gift on Wednesday after work.

Here is what Braydon got me:

So basically this is all I will be doing this weekend!!!! I'm sure we will have a few pictures taken of us playing the Wii this weekend.

Other news: We will have our backyard finished on Saturday and will take some pictures of it when it is done. For those who don't know, the Boston Celtics came back from 24 points behind to end up winning by 6 last night in came 4 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics now lead to series 3-1 with Game 5 on Sunday Night. GO CELTICS!!!

We have 3 new photo albums in our photo section. So check them out!!

NBA FINALS!!!

I know it's late but I wanted all to know that I will be cheering for the Boston Celtics this year in the NBA Finals. The main reason: I HATE THE LAKERS!!! I don't know what it is but them that I can't stand. Mostly its Kobe Bryant. He thinks that he is soooooo good (I mean he is but he doesn't have to act it 24-7). My prediction is the Celtics in 7 (yes, that was before they won game one). So far so good with the Celtics up 1-0 in the best of seven series. Game 2 will be Sunday.

Other news: I just turned another century yesterday as now I'm in the Early-30's now. No, I don't feel older, it was just another day, but it just sounds old when you tell people your thirty. More info and pictures of the birthday in the next post.

World Series of Poker Has Begun!!!

May 29th at noon began the 1st of 55 events that make up the World Series of Poker. A friend and I went down to the Rio Hotel and Casino to walk through and try to see some of the "Superstars" of the Poker world. I didn't bring my camera (see previous posts). I did go to the WSOP website located here to see if I could find any pictures from the evening I was there.

Pictures from that day:

Andy Bloch

Phil (Unibomber) Laak

Eli Elezra

Mike Sexton

Phil Ivey

Other players I saw (with no pictures):

Johnny Chan, Paul (Eskimo) Clark, Humberto (Shark-man) Brenes, Greg (Fossil-Man) Raymer. I wanted to see Raymer put his dinosaur glasses on (he only does that if he's playing a hand) so I watched him for about 20-30 minutes but no such luck.

Players I WANT to see:

Phil Hellmuth, just to see him whine, Chris (Jesus) Ferguson, Allen Cunningham, Scotty Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer, Mike (The Mouth) Matusow, Antonio (The Magician) Esfandiari

The Main Event (which is the big No-Limit Tournament) will begin July 3 and go until July 14th. The Final Table of the Main Event will not be played until November 9th and 10th, so if you want a chance to see some (or all) of the "Superstars" let us know and we can accommodate all that want to, just let us know first so we can book your rooms!!!

New Blogger in the Family!!

Yes, It's Official!!! Another person has joined the "Blog" family. Katie has set up her own blog that will be about the books that she has been reading or will be reading in the near future. Her bookmark is in the Link section under Katie's Book Spot. I'm sure she will leave posts about our family (Basically all the stuff I leave out!!!)

We also went to Red Rock Canyon on Memorial Day. It was fun. I felt like we were in Moab with all the red rocks around us. We were there for about 4 hours and only stopped at 3 places (which mean we will be able to take visitors there to see it).

I also want to ask you, the blog reading world, what kind of Digital Cameras you have. Ours has been acting up and we are considering an upgrade. We have an old Fuji FinePix and have been fine with it over the last 4-5 years. Things that have been happening are 1) Card Error so that our pictures won't save to the card 2) Video with no sound which is disappointing (just found that out about 2 weeks ago) 3) Can't take pictures fast enough when its a moving target (Kids on bikes, NASCAR, etc...)

If you have any recommendations, I will listen. We did add a Red Rock Canyon album to our photo album (of all the pictures that did work mind you!!!) so check them out.
